Tired of all the bad news

While we can't deny the difficulites for so many people at home and overseas, it's important to take account of the positives, and to spread the Good News. I don't know who said this but; "No-one ever injured their eyesight by looking on the bright side." Blessings..

Jesus of Nazareth - Forgiveness...

Forgiveness....

The Gospel of the 11th Sunday of the Year. Luke 7:36 - 8:3

This is the account of the woman who came in to the house of Simon the Pharisee and began to wash the feet of Jesus with her tears and dry them with her hair. As Jesus illustrates, by her actions she shows great love. This love comes from deep down where she knows Jesus is more than willing to forgive her sins. "For this reason I tell you her sins, her many sins, must have been forgiven her or she would not have shown such great love."

  1. "Your faith has saved you: go in peace"

It was her complete and utter faith in the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins that gave her the power and strength to acknowledge the forgiveness received and to demonstrate this forgiveness through the language of love.

She knew she was a sinner AND she also knew she was forgiven.

  2. We really won't get a handle on the full power of what Jesus has done and is doing until we see him face to face. Till then the scales are over our eyes somewhat and we hold on to our sins
